We assess your candidacy by a stable prescription, healthy eye structures and anatomy, and sufficient corneal thickness for the surgery to be performed. Fortunately, cataract surgery has progressed over the recent decades to become one of the simplest and most commonly performed eye surgeries. At Avant Eyes Optometry, you will receive a comprehensive eye exam including a thorough assessment of your cataracts, diagnostic testing, whether you are a candidate for surgery, which type(s) of lens implants are most appropriate, and a custom-tailored approach to surgical co-management that fits your needs.

Treating any dry eye disease prior to surgery is of utmost importance to optimize a successful outcome. If you have risk for or existing dry eye disease, we will always recommend treatment prior to surgery.
